Hi, I’m Cara.

Thank you for visiting my website and for taking a moment to learn more about my work.

As an artist I believe that I am constantly evolving. I love finding new ways to create, express myself and experiment with color and texture. My formal education is in graphic design, and because of that, many of my projects begin on the computer.

I find it so fulfilling to experiment with contrast, and I tend to favor mixed media pieces - combining plaster, charcoal & paint on a canvas or layered over-top of a photo/print. I am moved by a fascination with the way that color, shape, and space work together – or against each other - to create a story. Each piece has a history and a meaning behind it, and I feel inspired to create a visual experience that sparks memories and brings comfort to the viewers based on their own interpretation of what they see. I create original work on a commissioned basis as well as producing canvas series and prints of previously created pieces for sale.
